Driver Assistants (Mates)

Reports to the Heavy Duty Truck Driver.

Location: Tema

Roles Definition & Accountabilities

  • Participate in conducting the necessary risk assessments for routine and non-routine loads being transported.
  • Cooperate with other staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with the required SOPs
  • Ensure clients’ goods are loaded, secured and unloaded in a safe and organized manner.
  • Ensure that parked vehicles have been properly choked and provide guidance assistance to drivers when trucks are being reversed.
  • Operate in line with relevant legislation, (Road Traffic Regulations LI 2180 and best work practices), Company policy and Company procedures.
  • Maintain the required standards of housekeeping and neatness in the cabin and on the truck.
  • Ensure that all records (inspection checklists, waybills, logbooks, etc) are properly stored in a manner that protects them from damage.
  • Co-operating with the company to provide a safe place or system of work. This includes using PPE provided
  • Communicate relevant information, such as near misses, unsafe acts and conditions, reporting accidents, incidents, property damages and injuries as soon as they occur

Qualification & Competency Requirement

  • Academic Qualification is a minimum of Junior High School certificate.
  • Ability to read and write
  • Good time management skills and sound judgement and excellent customer service.

Sales Officer

Reports to the Head of Business Development.

Location: Tema

Roles Definition & Accountabilities

  • Responsible for sale of the Company’s products to the market to increase revenue
  • Maintains a portfolio of clients and manages portfolio to achieve maximum customer satisfaction and highest share of wallet.
  • Develop dynamic business presentations and proposals for clients and internal communications
  • Creation of timely sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Develops and recommends service positioning and pricing strategy to line manager to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
  • Supports line manager to develop and maintain sales and marketing budget.
  • Assists in producing feasibility studies/business plans for new product/ services development
  • Supports tender processing
  • Supports line manager in managing overall customer satisfaction, and constituting the development of strategies for improving customer experience and implementation of surveys in line with ISO requirements.
  • Supports line manager in developing marketing campaigns for existing and new products.
  • Supports planning and managing advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.

Qualification & Competency Requirement

  • Academic qualification is a minimum of HND or BSc in Marketing or Economics or a related field from a recognized tertiary institution. A Master’s degree in related field is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in sales and marketing within the logistics and freight sector with a proven track record of good performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy
  • Knowledge of general freight forwarding terms and standards.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to drive and must have a valid driving licence.

Heavy Duty Truck Drivers

Reports to the Transport Manager.

Location: Tema

Roles Definition & Accountabilities

  • Responsible for operating the company assigned trucks to make scheduled pick-ups and deliveries of load / cargo as instructed operating in line with relevant legislation.
  • Effectively coach driver assistants, giving them guidance and direction when working.
  • Cooperate with other staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with the required Standard Operating Procedures,
  • Responsible for getting way-bills and other relevant documents for all deliveries from clients.
  • Participate in conducting the necessary risk assessments for routine and non routine loads being transported.

Qualification & Competency Requirement

  • Academic Qualification is a minimum of Junior High School certificate. Driving license class ‘F’ is mandatory. A minimum of three years’ experience as a heavy duty truck driver with a good record in safe driving.

Branch Manager

Reports to the General Manager.

Role Definition & Accountabilities:

  • General Management: as a management representative at the branch collaborates with senior leadership to ensure alignment of company systems and procedures for Takoradi operations
  • Ensures Operational Excellence by applying the most appropriate planning, monitoring, evaluation, learning and reflection techniques to ensure that operational schedules and programmes are delivered to very high quality assurance standards.
